What’s Your Purpose And Does It Light You Up?

Currently, my purpose statement has been removed from it’s frame and is taped above the wall of the bedroom light switch in my temporary Paris digs. I keep it close wherever I am. It reads:

I live a life focused on receiving and sharing love, abundance, and light; a life that inspires and uplifts others to manifest and share their best lives.

It’s simple and to the point. And, for me, powerful enough to want to launch out of bed (launch is a strong word and usually there is coffee attached), dawn my cape (ummm…that is…my yoga pants or fancier yoga pants) and fly out armed with “You Got This Rockstar!” support for all I see. It lights me up! It’s my calling. It’s that thing that not only makes me smile from ear to ear when I think about it, but also allows the moments to slip away on the clock without me noticing. It’s that thing I could do for free and feel like I just got paid $1 million…

Rocking your purpose is like winning the lottery every day of your life!

I know that feeling when you’re off track. Frankly, I woke up with it yesterday and had to take a moment (it was more like a day) to work out the kinks, get still, and regroup. It’s like when I’m out of alignment in a yoga pose. My brain immediately goes to “Wait. This feels like crap. Oh, yeah, and I can’t breathe either. Need a little help here.” Then, I know it’s time to adjust. It’s time to get back to my purpose, my “Why am I here?”, “How do I want to feel?”, “Where do I want to go with this?”

Your purpose statement is your compass. Are you going in the right direction?

If you’re super serious about living this Awesome Life, then walking around lit up by your purpose is mandatory. It’s what will keep you coming back for more and bringing your “A+” game on the days when everything is blazing on all cylinders and days when you feel like the wheels are coming off.

Do you have a purpose statement? Is it taped to your wall, on your cel phone alarm repeat, part of your daily affirmation practice, etc.? If so, I dare you to share it in the comments!

  • No I don’t have a purpose statement…. I struggled to answer when I was asked yesterday, “what your end goal?”. Part of the hesitance was because I have MANY goals– most are intertwined. I also got stuck on the word “end”. I’m on a journey for sure.. I have a direction but no ONE goal or desitination. Better, richer, happier, loving …these are my overarching “end goals” I suppose. The journey includes saying “YES” to many new doors and wispering to myself “fear stand down” to others. I’ll put some thought into PURPOSE. Doing so may give me greater discernment as to which door to open and walk through. Thanks Inspirational Expert, Tra! 💗

    • BFF!Thank you for your insight! Yep, it’s an interesting thing to be interested, have passion for and be talented in so many things. I’m learning to release the idea of “getting to the end”. That’s not to say there is no Road Map or plan. And, who says you have to have one goal/purpose? Keep getting still, asking for guidance, and saying “Yes” when it shows up. I’m finding that the path gets a lot brighter that way. LOVE!
